Yesterday Dianne took our 9 year old granddaughter, Emilie, to the annual White Squirrel Festivalin Brevard. They had a blast. Emilie came home with her face painted and all excited about the bouncy balls and inflatable slides she romped on. Dianne said the music was great and there were some really unique craft booths. And of couse, lots of food.
The town was trying to set a Guinness record for the most people in white squirrel costumes. The TV crews were there to capture it all. We don’t know yet if the record was broken.
I asked Emilie to bring me back a squirrel sandwich or a “squirrel-on-a-stick”. She said she looked all over the festival but couldn’t find any. Ah, there’s nothing like the sense of superiority that comes from fooling a 9 year old!
What I would love to know is: what would you have done if there WAS a ’squirrel-on-a-stick’ or squirrel sandwich? :0)
I probably would have asked her for the acorn ketchup. What! No acorn ketchup! Just can’t eat this without acorn ketchup.
